Growing up in New York City public schools, Zak Downtown was immersed at an early age in the hustling-bustling, trendsetting NYC culture. Surrounded by other creative and entrepreneurial minds, Zak Downtown uses the NYC inspiration to create an inner drive towards achieving his goals.
Trying to make it in New York City is a 24hr job. Zak barely sees the light of day. Spending his days in the studio writing and recording, and his nights networking and socializing all over the city. This work hard-play hard attitude has allowed Zak Downtown to connect with DJ’s, club owners, athletes, actors, and music and business professionals. Zak’s work ethic has expedited his road to success.
Zak Downtown is creating his own niche in hip hop with tracks that have electric infused beats and others that pay homage to his New York City roots. His songs can find their way on the playlist for the party and the after hours.
As an up and comer in the hip hop world, Zak Downtown has had the opportunity to take the stage with a handful of stars. He has performed with Lupe Fiasco, Chiddy Bang, Hoodie Allen, Outasight, T Mills, and even Swedish DJ duo Dada Life. In addition Zak Downtown has had his music licensed by French apparel company Le Coq Sportif.
